Santiago, Chile - On July, BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles, held the brand launch in Chile and officially introduced the pure electric model BYD DOLPHIN to the local market and announced the price. Over 250 guests were invited to the brand launch event to witness the pivotal moment for its new energy passenger vehicle business in Chile. Four models, BYD HAN, BYD TANG, BYD YUAN PLUS, and BYD SONG PLUS DM-i, were exhibited at the event as well.

The event was immersed in ocean-style elements, which is perfectly matched with the “Ocean Aesthetics” design concept of the BYD DOLPHIN model, led by Wolfgang Egger, BYD Global Design Director. The technological and spacious hatchback with modern lines, which has a range of 405 km (NEDC) per full charge and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, will bring a customized and unique driving experience to young users.

With its 2,700 mm wheelbase, BYD DOLPHIN provides a comfortable and spacious cabin and is equipped with a highly integrated 8-in-1 electric drive system, which greatly improves the safety and the performance of the car.

The advanced functions, such as karaoke and the VToL(vehicle-to-load) mobile power station, were also displayed on-site, showcasing the enhancement of the overall experience for local consumers.

BYD's first pure electric bus entered Santiago, Chile in 2017, and in 2022, the company announced a strategic cooperation with ASTARA.
